As soon as my parents would let me, I was off travelling. It’s been a life-long passion, which led naturally to becoming a hiking and adventure guide.

As years pass, I recognise that travel is as much an exploration of our internal geographies, as it is an expression of our external discoveries. That’s why I started Ora Adventures - to connect you meaningfully with people and place.

With a strong personal need to connect with whenua (place), I’ve explored the mountains, forests, rivers, lakes and coastlines of Aotearoa, often with camera and pen in backpack. The journey has been a good one and I’ve authored over 20 regional guidebooks and worked for companies such as National Geographic and Mountain Travel Sobek.

My children describe me as a ‘champagne hippy’ - in touch with the natural world, while also appreciating the finer aspects of life - especially wholesome food and natural medicines.

Travel is about fun and connection. Your interpretation and trip culture reflects these values. I look forward to sharing experiences with you.
